LayoutThe first thing I will note about this book is that it is not formatted to read/view on an iPad in the horizontal way, like this:
But in the vertical position, the book looks great:
Note: When I turned my iPad back to horizontal after it had been vertical, the page layout was easier to read, but still not as aesthetically pleasing as it is in the vertical orientation.
My thoughts on the storyline
Very cute story about a little boy who accidentally gets away from his home while chasing a butterfly. This book kind of reminded me of "Are You My Mother?" and had a really adorable progression from one adventure to the next.
My thoughts on the writing
I am unsure exactly who this book is made for so I have a couple opinions on this.
If the book is written for parents who are reading to their kids who are not yet of reading age, then the book is well written to get as many words on each page so there is a photo to go with each page.
My concern becomes if this book is designed for early readers to read aloud with their parents or teachers, then there are several improvements to be made. Firstly, the book includes many large blocks of text without line breaks. These can be very hard to follow and for little readers to not lose their place while reading to themselves or out loud. Any time the speaker changes, a new line should start. I would not suggest any more than one or two sentences per "paragraph" (I say this as a mom to a four-year-old).
Secondly for little readers, the language may be a little bit too advanced in some places. I think the author got a little caught up in writing correctly, but forgot the rule of simplicity with it comes to children's books.
My last complaint would be the typos throughout the book. Most of them are punctuation errors, but they are distracting for me as a parent.
Overall, very cute story and my daughter enjoyed listening to me read it aloud to her. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Book For Kids "WHERE IS MY HOME?" The Terry Treetop Series 3 edition by Tali Carmi Benny Carmi Children eBooks Reviews
Terry Treetop chases a butterfly but the butterfly continues to fly from flower to flower. All of a sudden, Terry discovers he is lost. He is hungry and doesn't know how to get back home. He meets different animals that give him food, although the food is not what he considers tasty. After he obeys some instructions and comes across the animals, he realizes that he is still far from home, but is he really as far from home as he thinks?
This book does a great job of showing the different types of food that each of the animals in the story eat. I felt it was very generous of them to share their food with Terry, even though it wasn't human food. I think it will interest children that the animals knew how to tell Terry how to get back home. And, I believe the ending of the story will help show children that Terry learned his lesson and he will probably not do the same thing that made him get lost in the first place again.
I received this product free of charge for an honest and unbiased review.
We are definitely big fans of the terry treetop series in this house. My daughter Avery LOVES them!
This one is just as well written and easy to follow for young ones as the last few we have read by this author.
This one explores the curious nature of a child, and how something as being curious about a beautiful butterfly can lead them astray to where they find themselves lost.
In this story, you follow terry treetop on an adventure "Finding his way home." He meets a ton of interesting creatures along the way, trying new foods "Thanks to being lost at lunch time." Each and every friend he meets along the way is kind and caring,
finally he comes across a friend who tells him how to get home .... But what it really takes is his favorite all time love "CLIMBING TREES" to truly find his way home.
Once he makes it home he sees again the beautiful butterfly that had led him on his lost adventure. But decides this time, to stay home.
Really is a cute story for kids. My 7 year old thought it was adorable. Her favorite parts where when terry tried different foods and realized they were not for him.
We are big fans of terry treetop, I am pretty sure we always will be.
I have read it to my 6 year old son before bed time. He enjoyed the story about little boy called Terry Treetop, who got his nickname because he loved climbing on top of trees. The story is about Terry, who followed a beautiful butterfly while playing outside. He loved animals and always tried to make new friends. This time he followed this beautiful butterfly. He wanted to make friends with it and got so excited chasing it that eventually found himself lost. While trying to find his way home, he made a few animal friends. They were so gracious and offered Terry something to eat because poor boy was lost and hungry. Even though Terry couldn't eat various types of vegetation he was offered, he was very grateful for making new friends. At last, he met a squirrel who lived on a tree. And because Terry Treetop loved climbing on trees, he did just that, following his new friend. Luckily while on top, he saw his own tree-house and rushed home to see his mom, who he missed very much. And guess what, he's met that butterfly again, right there in his front yard....
My boy enjoyed the story and we had a little discussion about how important it is to make new friends , but always be aware of your surroundings and never go too far from your home.
