This book has a good plot but I felt like the ending riuned it for me. This book is about a girl that is a tomboy and plays soccer her parents work for the militery and her whole life she has moved alot. When she finally thinks she has a place to call home her parents tell her that the getting transferred into Korea. She stands up for herself and says she does not want to go her parents agree that she cann stay with a friend of her parents and she moves in a house that has 7 boys/teenager/"adult" she finnaly gets kindy used to them there is alot of drama in this book but basically she kissed a brother and a few days later she says she moving with her parents in Korea but she ends up not going but in the end the leave alot of questions unanswered like what ever happend with the brother that kissed her did they eve go out I do no know. When I finished this book I legit when to the kindel store to buy the next book but there was no 2 book not even a sequel. So the book was good but the end definitely disappointed meP.S sorry for being so vuage about the name of the brother she kissed so you get a little suprise if you do buy this book.

Megan Meade Guide to the McGowan Boys Kate Brian Books Reviews
I liked Megan and the way she addresses the different challenges and situations (some quite funny) in living with 7 boys and starting at yet another new school. She's a strong character who is also caring and empathetic and who is not afraid to speak her mind (although she sometimes surprises even herself). It was nice to read a book where the new girl can stand up for herself, but in a likeable way. I also like how the author does not make any one boy come across as all perfect. And, perhaps because girls mature faster than boys, I also found Megan to be a bit more mature than the boys (even the older ones) that she has to live with. My main concern about this book is that it seems like the ending is rather vague as though setting up for a sequel, but I didn't see any sequel for this book. So, I felt as though I went through these challenging situations and journey with Megan only to find that there was no real conclusion. The book also seemed to come together almost too quickly towards the end. However, this was a fun and enjoyable read.
I bought this book for my daughter for Christmas and picked it up to read when I couldn't find anything more "adult." I was glad that I had. I teach junior high and this book was a great find. I know that the title and the pink cover are going to have a tendency to keep the boys away, but they are missing a great read and it might give the boys some insights into how girls see us. (Yes, I am a one of the "boys" that the main character discusses in this book.)
Megan Meade is an army brat and has moved to new schools all her life. Now that senior year is here, she is ready to finish it in the same school where she has, finally, spent the last three years. But then her parents drop the bomb that they are moving to Korea. Megan chooses to stay behind, living with the family of one of her father's friends. The problem... there are seven boys living in the household. And Megan, who is an only child, is in for the experience of her lifetime.
Megan now has to learn to deal with all sorts of new problems dirty bathrooms, the lack of privacy, half-naked boys wandering around the house, the smells, the mess, the boys using her tampons as crash barriers. And that's just at home. At school, Megan has to learn to fit in with new friends, try out for the school's soccer team, and deal with her number one competitor for the starting forward spot. (who just happens to be dating one of the brothers!)
Trouble really begins brewing for Megan when she finds herself falling in love with the same boy. Will Megan be able to deal with her seven new brothers? Will she make the soccer team? Will she find true love? And how will the McGowan boys deal with her?
There is some language and sexuality, but nothing graphic. A great book for late junior high to high school readers.
I really enjoyed Megan Meade's Guide, I truly did, until the end. It was clear that the author intended to pick up where she left off, but simply never did. After having popped over to Google for a little surfing, it seems that Kate Brian had, at one time, planned a sequel but it never came to pass. I guess her two series got in the way. So I have to be honest, I was a little peeved.
The story is fun, there's not all that much to the book where plot is concerned, but that's okay, it's still a good read. Megan is a neat little character, though at times her "wow, I can't believe I just said that" attitude does grate on one's nerves. But again, this isn't pulitzer worthy material we're supposed to be reading. The boys were great, from crazy-in-love Evan to artsy Finn to Doug the second coming of Eminem to Miller the gentle giant. They were all realized wonderfully. The dynamics between Megan, Evan and Finn were great and I always looked forward to the scenes where Evan and Finn made their respective appearances.
This is a cute book. It's not over the top, it's not complicated. The story is simple and linear and Megan's voice in clear. It's a great story about finding one's inner voice and learning how to use it.
Again, I was disappointed with the ending. The door was left open, wide open, for a sequel and the ending is screaming for one. If you're not put-off by ambiguous endings, you'll probably enjoy the read. For me, had I know, I never would have read it. But, as it stands, it was a pretty good book.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I thought it was going to be more about Megan and her relationships with each of the sons, but it actually was more about Megan discovering how to be herself and stand up for that. At the beginning we find out that she has always done everything her parents have asked of her, so for her to actively tell them she was not going to Korea was the first step in her becoming stronger.
